Security Assessment

Assessing the strengths and weaknesses of your technical, physical and administrative security controls is critical to maintaining a strong IT security position. Contineo's Security Assessment is a thorough evaluation of your network and host systems that allows our consultants to determine the adequacy of existing security controls and device configurations and to identify potential security deficiencies. The process we follow is primarily based on the ISO 17799 standard, which establishes guidelines and general principles for initiating, implementing, maintaining, and improving information security management in an organization.

The Security Assessment is designed for company that wants an evaluation based less on its policies and procedures and more on the actual practices used by its personnel and in-depth tests of security on its systems and networks. Areas of review typically include:

  • Local Area Networks
  • Wide Area Networks
  • Wireless Networks
  • Server Operating Systems
  • Domain Security
  • Device Configuration - Baseline vs. Actual
  • File/Directory Access Controls
  • Internal Penetration Testing
  • Workstation Security
  • Physical Access Controls
